To teach students how to use basic functions and possibilities of implementing computers in everyday work. Inform them about the possibilities of information and communication technologies in developing information systems for business and other purposes.
Basic terms and structure of information technology, their origin, significance and implementation. Operating system (current): purpose and basic user functions and their application. Text processing program - basic and advanced functions of document design. Multimedia presentations program - basic and advanced possibilities of implementation. Basic settings in the development of information systems, phases and methods of development. Basics in modelling (preparation) the data for implementation in databases. Program for spreadsheet calculations, concept and basic corporate functions in implementation. Program for databases, basic functions in solving - implementation. Basic concepts of computer networks and protection of data on computers.
Design of a document corresponding in complexity to a seminar paper with advanced software possibilities. Independent preparing of a multimedia presentation following required conditions. Implementation of spreadsheet calculators in making a business, less complicated application. Understand the complexity and gain necessary knowledge for the development of information systems.
Having passed the exam, students will be able to: 1. Explain the main concepts and parts of information-communication technology. 2. Use the basic user functions of the Windows operating system. 3. Format text documents of various sizes, content and complexity. 4. Use formulas and functions of a spreadsheet calculator to solve numerical tasks. 5. Form relevant information from various sources into a proper presentation. 6. Prepare data for import into database design and maintenance software. The aforementioned learning outcomes contribute to the learning outcomes of the study programme: - Plan studies and action plans for crisis situation exercises, and designing crisis management exercises - Create civil protection documents - Manage activities of a multidisciplinary team in crises using acquired communication skills - Analyse different assumptions, approaches, results and procedures in security issues - Use information systems and technology for planning, monitoring and communication in resolving crisis situations
