Objective of course of lectures: Teach students how to handle, apply and take out contact lenses, to carry our previous measurements necessary for fitting of contact lenses, how to work with rent lamps, refraction through contact lenses in the eye.

Content of course of lectures:

1.     Special indications in lenses fitting.

2.     Regular astigmatism.

3.     Irregular astigmatism.

4.     Contact lenses for presbiopes.

5.     Ceratoconus, ceratoglobus, ceratoplastics, therapeutic lenses, contact lenses and children, with aphakia, with aniseikonia, lenses for prolonged wearing, contact lenses and work, sport.

General and specific competences (knowledge and skills): With the exam passed, students will be able to assess justifiability of contact lenses application in eyesight correction, to determine the type of contact lenses; they will know how to fit lenses, explain the risks of wearing and handling lenses, to give instructions on their proper and safe maintenance, as well as on the need for regular checks of eyes and contact lenses.
