Course Objective: Familiarising with the quality principles and system, methods, techniques, procedures and tools used in a quality assurance and control system.

Course Contents: Quality system: definitions of quality and a quality system, various aspects of quality and its historical development, quality assurance, control, management and monitoring. Principles, methods, techniques and tools used for the establishment of the quality system, process approach. Extension of the quality system to the environmental protection. Preventive activities, preventing damage and accidents in a wide range of risks, maintenance activities. Most effective factors in the quality system: staff, equipment, technology. Destructive and non-destructive tests and methods of detecting faults in the function of quality control of equipment and means used in computer systems maintenance. Basic requirements, directives (guidelines), compliance with basic requirements, compliance assessment system: authorising and verifying (accreditation, licences). Normisation: Normisation Act, normisation system, promulgation and application of norms, ISO, IMAS, EN, comparison between EN and HRN (Croatian norms). Norms relevant to computer systems maintenance. Education: requirements, level of education, certification.

General and Specific Competencies (Knowledge and Skills): Knowledge of the principles and methods used for the establishment and maintenance of a quality system. Knowledge of the methods, techniques, procedures and tools used in the system of quality control of products and services.
