Course objective:

Acquiring knowledge in traffic management under complex conditions.

Main characteristics of traffic and transport system Land traffic system infrastructure Infrastructure in water and air transportation Transportation chains Technologies in railways, air and water transportation Reloading operations and managing reloading operations Road transport management Managing transport in urban areas Managing combined transportation Passenger and freight safety in transportation Optimizing traffic and transport processes. Logistics and logistics processes in transport Transportation costs. Managing traffic in crisis situations (terrorist and combat activities) Managing traffic in NATO led operations. Managing traffic for the needs of NATO with support from host country


Ability to manage traffic, especially under crisis conditions.

Learning outcomes:

Having passed the exam, the student will be able to: 1. Organize business processes in a logistics-transport company. 2. Manage transport chains in various transport branches. 3. Manage transport costs in a logistics organization. 4. Devise a possibility for optimizing traffic and transport processes. 5. Connect the knowledge of traffic and transport management with other knowledge from the field of the logistics system. 6. Critically evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of individual modes of transportation. 7. Devise the possibility for optimizing transportation process. 8. Organize the system of traffic and transportation in a NATO environment. 9. Follow all available sources of information from the aspect of traffic and transportation. The aforementioned learning outcomes contribute to the learning outcomes of the study programme: - Analyse relevant management indicators in the logistics system. - Plan management in the process of logistics activities. - Recognize the need for lifelong learning in the development of logistics.
