Acquisition of basic knowledge in the field of mechanical processing of materials.
Casting. Welding. Soldering. Adhesive bonding. Metalworking through deformation. Machining. Particle separation processing. Forming machine tools. Production and processing of polymers and composites. Basic technological parameters of mechanical processing procedures. Examples of technological procedures of repairing and manufacturing the parts of an engine, vehicle or aircraft.
Combining of technological material processing procedures with and without particle separation. Planning of technological equipment for particular processing procedures. Defining the technological process of repairing or manufacturing of spare parts.
Having passed the exam, the student will be able to: 1. Describe and plan the casting procedure of materials. 2. Describe and plan the welding, soldering and bonding procedures. 3. Describe and plan the forming procedures by deformation. 4. Describe and plan the procedures of particle separation processing. 5. Integrate technological procedures and equipment in the process of manufacturing and repairing parts. These learning outcomes contribute to the following outcomes of the study programme of aircraft maintenance: -Complete operating manuals based on the analysis of aviation regulations relating to aircraft maintenance, airworthiness and operating requirements. -Apply the concept of a quality system in an airline company or an aircraft maintenance organisation. -Distinguish single parts of an aircraft in relation to the physical laws of flying and functioning of aircraft systems. -Apply standard maintenance procedures prescribed in the aircraft maintenance programmes. -Calculate the necessary minimum of spare parts and materials in the warehouse for aircraft maintenance. These learning outcomes contribute to the following outcomes of the study programme of motor vehicle maintenance: - Apply the technological processes of motor vehicle maintenance. - Recognise the need for lifelong learning and using broader literature in motor vehicle maintenance
