Upgrading technical terminology, smooth and precise exchange of information within contexts related to various aspects of motor vehicle maintenance, use of technical handbooks and dictionaries.
Use of English to describe malfunctions and propose potential solutions, motor vehicle safety, occupational health and safety, Guidelines for preparing presentations. Presentation methods. Holding meetings.
Students will acquire knowledge necessary to read, understand and use technical literature in English, as well as develop and use communication and presentation skills in the professional context.
Having passed the exam, the student will be able to: 1. Devise and make a presentation on a selected technical topic. 2. Appropriately use grammatical patterns. 3. Use professional terminology and expressions. 4. Comment and share opinions on various topics related to motor vehicle maintenance. 5. Present one's own critical opinions on the relation between sustainable development and the development of automotive industry. 6. Write a business letter, CV or e-mail, and a shorter professional text in English. These learning outcomes contribute to the following outcomes of the study programme: - Use the English language in the reading of professional literature and professional communication. - Demonstrate professional and ethical responsibility in vehicle maintenance. - Recognise the need for lifelong learning and using broader literature in motor vehicle maintenance.
