Gaining knowledge of the theory and operation of construction machines.
Properties of construction machines. Soil properties. Soil cutting resistance. Traction properties of machines. Hydrostatic and hydrodynamic power transmission on construction machinery. Knowledge of the machine structure: Loaders. Bulldozers. Graders. Excavators. Truck cranes. Rollers and soil compactors.
Competence of analysis and assessment of the structure of construction machinery.
Having passed the exam, students will be able to: 1. Describe basic properties of construction machines. 2. Calculate the soil cutting resistance using working tools and the power required for the movement and operation of the machine. 3. Describe the operating principle of hydrostatic and hydrodynamic power transmission on construction machinery. 4. Describe the construction and operating principle of working devices on construction machinery (loaders, cranes). 5. Make an individual analysis of the structure of construction machinery 6. Make an individual presentation of the results of analysis of a construction machine. These learning outcomes contribute to the following outcomes of the study programme: - Explain the physical parameters of motor vehicle construction. - Explain the working principle for the assemblies and devices in motor vehicles. - Present a motor vehicle status analysis.
