Objective of course of lectures: The objective of the course of studies is to acquire knowledge in physics necessary for the understanding of basis physical processes.

Content of course of lectures: Introduction. Physical sizes. SI unit system. Essential mechanics. Oscillations, waves, sound; harmonic oscillator. Wave energy and intensity. Waves, transversal and longitudinal waves. Reflexion and superposition of waves. Acoustic waves. Scock wave. Electromagnetic phenomena: electricity, resistance, work and force. Electric circles, alternating current. Magnetostatic and electromagnetic eqations. Electromagnetic waves. Dynamics of fluids: hydrostatics, hydrodynamics. Thermodynamics: Ideal gas. Thermic characteristics of substances. Gas mixtures. Status diagram. Thermal energy in transfer. The first, second and third laws of thermodynamics. Thermal energy transfer. Carnot cycle. Geometric and physical optics. Flat and spheric mirror. Light refraction. Lenses.

General and specific competences (knowledge and skills):

Students will acquire knowledge necessary for the understanding of physical processes, which will enable their understanding of the nature of natural and antropogenic hazards and procedures in prevention, protection and elimination of consequences.
