Course Objective: Comprehension and acquisition of basic numerical and statistical methods relevant to engineering practice. |

Course Contents: NUMERICS. BASIC TERMS: approximate calculating and calculating errors. NUMERICAL SOLVING OF EQUATIONS: bisection method. NUMERICAL SOLVING OF LINEAR EQUATION SYSTEMS: Gauss method. NUMERICAL SOLVING OF DIFERENTIAL EQUATIONS: Euler method. INTERPOLATION: Langrange method. APPROXIMATION: method of least squares. STATISTICS. BASIC TERMS: population and random sample. DESCRIPTIVE STATISTICS: graphical presentation, mean value and dispersion. STOCHASTIC MODELS: random events, probability, random variables and Gauss distribution. ESTIMATES: point and interval estimates. DECISIONS: mean value testing, quality control and the c2 t test. |
