1. Classification procedure and enrolment conditions at specialist graduate professional study programme Information Systems at University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica
The specialist graduate professional study programme Information Systems are intended to persons who want to work or have already worked on the jobs of development and maintenance of information systems and computer programming in public and private sector, and who want to get specialized in this field.
a) Application for the classification procedure
The right to apply for the classification procedure is realized by the persons who have completed the professional study programme Computer System Management at the University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica or equivalent higher education or university education in the country or abroad and have acquired at least 180 ECTS credits i.e. the professional title professional baccalaureus (baccalaurea).
Along with the application form for the classification procedure that can be obtained and filled in at the Department for Student Affairs with the original documents an unauthorized copy each of the following documents shall be enclosed:
- Citizenship certificate,
- Birth certificate,
- Certificate about the completed professional or university undergraduate study,
- Supplement with the certificate of completed study programme or a transcript of the grades of the passed exams.
The classification procedure includes the evaluation of average grade of the passed exams at the professional or university undergraduate study programme or university graduate study programme.
b) Enrolment in the specialist graduate professional study programme
The right to enrol in the specialist graduate professional study programme Information Systems is realized by the persons who:
- have passed the classification procedure at the University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica,
The enrolment proceeds in the order of the success scale obtained by the classification procedure until fulfilling the quotas for enrolment at full-time i.e. part-time specialist graduate professional study programme Information Systems.
The professional baccalaurea engineers of information technologies who completed the undergraduate study programme Computer Systems Management at the University of Applied Sciences, and who realized the right of enrolment based on the classification procedure enrol directly without sitting for differential exams.
Professional baccalaurea who have completed some other professional study programme or undergraduate university study programme, specialist professional graduate study programme or university graduate study programme and realized the right of enrolling based on the classification procedure, enrol with the condition of sitting for the differential exams for the following (or equivalent) exams of the professional study programme Computer System Management at University of Applied Sciences, i.e. they take the exam of the difference in relation to:
- Structure and use of computers (6 ECTS),
- Algorithms and structure of data (5 ECTS),
- Databases (6 ECTS),
- Computer networks (5 ECTS),
- Programming (6 ECTS),
- Information system security (3 ECTS).
2. Scholarship fee, duration and organization of the study programme
a) Duration and organization of the study programme
Specialist graduate professional study programme Information Systems is performed in a duration of two (2) years, i.e. four (4) semesters. Every semester takes 15 weeks.
The total student workload is on the average 21 teaching hours per week through fifteen (15) weeks per semester realized through lectures, exercises and individual work under mentorship support.
All the subjects have assigned ECTS credits that provide study flexibility. The elective courses were selected in agreement with the mentor.
Every semester of the study programme has been assigned 30 ECTS credits, and the whole study programme with 120 ECTS credits, thus realizing the right to get the diploma on the completed specialist graduate professional study programme Information Systems.
Teaching is organized and performed as a rule on workdays in morning and afternoon hours and exceptionally on Saturdays and Sundays for full-time students and in the afternoon hours and Saturdays and exceptionally on Sundays for part-time students.
b) Costs of studying
Costs of enrolment and classification procedure amount to HRK 350.
The amount of the scholarship fee for one semester is HRK 7,490 i.e. for the entire study HRK 29,960.
