C O N D I T I O N S
of enrollment and requirements for the qualification procedure
in
specialist graduate professional programme
Crisis Management

 

1. The qualification procedure and the enrollment conditions in the specialist graduate professional programme Crisis Management at the University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica

The specialist graduate professional programme of Crisis Management is intended for persons who want to work or are already working in the managerial activities in public and private sector under the conditions of crises, corporate safety, security and rescue, and who wish to specialize in the respective field (public administration employees, firefighters, employees of the Minstry of the Interior, officers and non-commissioned officers of the Croatian Army, employees of the State Protection and Rescue Directorate, employees in industry, entrepreneurs, etc.)

 

a) Application for the qualification procedure

Entitled to apply for the qualification procedure are the persons who have completed the professional programme at the University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica or an equivalent higher or university education in Croatia or abroad and who have acquired a minimum of 180 ECTS credits.

Apart from the application form for the qualification procedure, which is available to be filled in at the Students Administrative Office, the following documents are required (the originals accompanied by a non-notarized copy each):

- certificate of nationality,
- birth certificate,
- diploma of the completed professional or university undergraduate study,
- diploma supplement on the completed study or transcript of grades of the passed exams,
- evidence about having acquired the status of first or second category athlete.

The qualification procedure includes the evaluation of the average grade of the exams passed at a professional or university undergraduate programme or university graduate study.

b) Enrollment in specialist graduate professional programme

The right to enrol in the specialist graduate professional programme Crisis Management is realized by those candidates who:

- have passed the qualification procedure at VVG,
- have acquired the average grade 3,00 or higher in the exams passed at a professional or university undergraduate study.

The enrollment proceeds according to the order on the rank-list of results obtained through the qualification procedure until filling the quota for the full-time, i.e. part-time specialist graduate professional programme Crisis Management.

The baccalaureus/baccalaurea of Crisis Management who have realized the right to enrol based on the qualification procedure enrol directly, without having to pass the difference exams.

The baccalaureus / baccalaurea who completed some other professional programme or undergraduate university programme, specialist professional graduate programme or university graduate study and realized the right to enrol based on the qualification procedure enrol but have to take the following difference exams from the professional programme Crisis Management:

  • Crisis Planning (6 ECTS)
  • Crisis Management (6 ECTS).

 

2. Tuition, duration and organization of the study

a) Duration and organization of the study

The specialist graduate professional programme Crisis Management covers a period of one (1) year, i.e. two semesters. Each semester takes 15 weeks.

Total student workload is on the average 21 classes per week during fifteen (15) weeks per semester realized through lectures, practical classes and independent work with mentorship assistance.

All the courses bring ECTS credits which account for the flexibility of studying. The students select the elective courses from group A in agreement with the mentor, and from group B of their own accord. A part of the lectures and practical classes are performed at workshops and in the field as well as at the cooperating higher-educational and scientific institutions.

Each semester brings 30 ECTS credits, and the entire programme brings 60 ECTS credits, thus realizing the right to acquire a diploma on the completed specialist graduate professional programme Crisis Management.

The classes are organized and performed as a rule on workdays in the afternoon and on Saturdays, and only exceptionally on Sundays.

b) Study costs

Costs of enrollment and qualification procedure amount to 300 Kn.

Tuition fee for one semester amounts to 8960 Kn, and for the entire study 17,920 Kn.

Costs of mentorship, diploma defence, diploma printing and graduation ceremony amount to 2100 Kn.
