Objective of the class: To present to students the possibilities and architecture of database management system.

Content of the class: Definition of database management system. Architecture of the system. Logical and physical structure of the system. Characteristics, possibilities and types of systems for database management. Navigation, relation and object systems. SQL systems. Data protection. User authentication and authorization. Defining user rights. System implementation and maintenance.

General and specific competencies (knowledge and skills): Student shall be presented with characteristics and possibilities of database management system.
