Course Objective: Gaining knowledge of multi-user and multi-service operating systems. |

Course Contents: Linux operating system. Basic properties. System tables. Signals. Breaks. Clock. Main algorithms. Operating memory control. Communication between processes. Operating system data structure. Network layer. Core commands. Single- and multi-processor cores. System calls. Measuring computer system performances. Computer system availability and reliability. |

General and Specific Competencies (Knowledge and Skills): Knowledge of the structure of Linux as a multi-user and multi-tasking system. Installing Linux on the computer, configuring the operating system, upgrade of the existing configuration-(SW and HW), adding users, network services recovery and control of the computer working under Linux. |
