Objective of course of lectures: Demonstrate basic principles of quality management system, and recognition of quality models ensuring sustainable development.

Content of course of lectures: Theory and practice of quality – basic characteristics or early American school of quality, Japanese school of quality and western school of quality; Demingo’s circle, the Ishikawa diagram, Taguchi quality engineering, who’s Philip Crosby; beginnings of standardisation; requirements of ISO 9001:2000/8 norm, process model, other quality requirements – GMP/26 quality policy; HACCP/7 principle HACCP, quality management according to EFQM; what are the risks in quality and how to handle them. Structure of quality management system, responsibility – communication, education, resources, production – development, planning and realisation, measurements, analyses and improvements; Audit/independent system evaluation – principles, audit management, scope, aims, implementation, responsibilities; documentation – basic, process, implementation; records as special documents; verifications and validations;

Introduction of system – project team, quality handbook, quality management standards, system evaluation; statistical quality models – tools and techniques

General and specific competences (knowledge and skills): Students will acquire knowledge necessary for the understanding of the concept of quality and the significance of its implementation, as well as the methods of introduction of the quality assurance system.
